Affordable Housing

The City can do more to encourage the development of additional housing stock.

The right mix of housing, built in the right way, will facilitate the ability for those who want to work in Mount Vernon to also be able to live here.

We need to ensure that the City does not impede or deter the development of new housing options that complement and enhance existing neighborhoods. And work with our State legistators to provide the right incentives without surrendering local control of measures that could jeopardize the city’s infrastructure and public safety needs.
